The City of Chicago utilizes mechanical street sweepers to remove debris and litter from streets. Street sweeping is effective when everyone moves their cars. Parked cars that do not move prevent residential streets from being cleaned, prevents catch basins from being cleared, and is discourteous to neighbors who obey the posted street cleaning signs.

For day-of street sweeping issues, please call the Ward Office as soon as possible. We will do our best to accommodate streets with moved cars.
